You'll recognize the grounds as the venue for the wedding in "Wedding Crashers." The Inn at Perry Cabin is a luxurious manor house resort and spa. Their 78 rooms offer varying configurations - many have fireplaces and separate living areas. Rooms on the main floor, and most on the second floor, have French doors that lead onto a deck, patio or veranda. It is on the expensive side but is unquestionably the nicest hotel in town. One of Jen and Matt's highest recommendations of places to stay. The Old Brick Inn, located in the heart of St. Michaels, offers 20 unique rooms each characterized by a different theme. Historic 8-room 1883 Victorian B&B in the heart of town. Queen and King brass beds, full breakfast, gracious hospitality, and fair prices. Afternoon tea and light refreshments. They are one of Trip Advisor's top rated Inns in the St. Michaels National Historic District. One block from our wedding reception venue, Cherry Street Inn is an elegant 1880's Victorian home. The Inn offers elegant gardens and patios. It has antique-filled guest suites, Wifi, cable TV, and a complimentary wine tray with refreshments. Gourmet breakfast served daily in their dinning room or garden sitting areas. The owners, Greg & Jane also have a charming antique shop, "Oyster House," specializing in furniture, jewelry, books, and gifts. Located one block from our wedding reception venue, Aida's Victoriana Inn offers spectacular water views. This this grand historic house is located on the harbor, in the heart of St. Michaels. The large grassy lawn offers lawn chairs perfect for quiet relaxing and looking out over the St. Michaels Harbor. They have 7 rooms, each individual in character, with old world charm, antiques, and modern conveniences of todays world. They offer a full breakfast, innkeepers reception on Fridays, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, and light snacks 24/7. Located one block from our wedding reception venue. The Snuggery has been restored by owners Phil and Carolee to preserve historic detail. The front parlors comprise the only original log construction known to survive in St. Michaels. Other historic details include two doors hidden in the walls with notes indicating that they were the original front and back doors to the house. The home also includes stunning ''log cabin pattern'' fir and southern pine floors installed in the parlors between 1905 and 1919. Chef Phil uses the freshest ingredients including fruits, vegetables, and herbs from local growers, and produce from the local Amish market and the St. Michaels Farmers Market. The Snuggery is decorated with casual elegance and each room features unique upscale decor. A refrigerator filled with complementary beverages is available to guests. Five Gables Inn and Spa is a haven for relaxation, featuring twenty rooms across three 19th century homes, an Aveda Concept Spa, an indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Located one block from the church. Enjoy the charm and hospitality of one of the oldest restored homes in the heart of St. Michaels. Right on the water and within walking distance of all the shops, galleries, and restaurants of St. Michaels, the Hambleton Inn is perfectly suited for short or extended stays, romantic getaways, or family gatherings. Located in between the reception and church, the Two Swan Inn is located on St. Michaels' historic harborfront. Guests enjoy perching themselves on the lawn over looking the harbors' activities. Located shortly past the Inn at Perry Cabin on the far-side of town, George Brooks House B&B is ''Heritage Award'' winner for the best historic restoration in 2001. The Inn sits on 8 acres at the NW end of St. Michaels and provides queen or king canopy beds, fireplace or King Jacuzzi rooms, full breakfast, TV with DVD in all rooms (great DVD movie library), 7 speed Raleigh bikes, and stocked guest refrigerator on the covered patio. It has a gorgeous 20' by 40' swimming pool and 10' diameter hot tub with teak furniture surrounded by gardens. Featured on HGTV show ''If Walls could Talk'' in 2007. Inspected and highest rated B&B Inn for St. Michaels by Mobil Travel Guide. NOTE: while the George Brooks House B&B is only 1 mile from the church and reception, most of the trek is along a road without sidewalks so we recommend you drive, particularly at night. Driving to the church and reception would take 5 minutes.

St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina, and Spa is an older place overlooking St. Michaels harbor with excellent views if you are staying on the water side. The Inn features 46 waterfront rooms and suites, a Day Spa on the premises, along with a marina. Many rooms have a private balcony overlooking the harbor. The first floor has a "Ship's Locker" gift shop, a relaxing "The Club Room" lounge, and an outdoor pool right on the water's edge." NOTE: while the St. Michaels Harbour Inn is located on St. Michaels Harbor, it is ACROSS the harbor from the church and reception. Thus, you will need to use their free shuttle service on request, open from 8am-11pm, or drive. It would be a 5-minute drive to the wedding church and reception, or a 15 minute walk.

If you don't want to book one of the local bed and breakfasts, we have a room block here (make sure to mention the Scott/ Gatewood wedding when booking), however it won't have the St. Michaels' charm or proximity that the smaller places have since it's located 1 mile outside downtown St. Michaels. The Best Western St. Michaels offers a complimentary expanded continental breakfast each morning and 2 outdoor swimming pools. NOTE: since the Best Western is 1 mile from the church and reception and since there are no sidewalks, you will need to drive 5 minutes.

With all 111 guest rooms viewing the water, this resort offers breath-taking views of the Chesapeake Bay yet the accomodations are dated. If anything, we recommend you stay downtown yet perhaps do a round of golf here. The 153-acre resort is located at the junction of the Chesapeake Bay and Miles River. Activities include golf, tennis, swimming, bike rentals, volleyball, horseshoes, and basketball (fees associated). NOTE: the hotel does NOT have shuttle service so you will need to drive. It would be a 10-minute drive to the wedding church and reception.

Pat English is one of Jen's best friends. Having met 11 years ago during 4th year on the UVA Lawn to spending the last 3 years being roommates, they have experienced it all. They share a love for American Idol (they even went to an Idols Live concert and got to go back stage - thanks to Pat that was Jen's 30th birthday gift!), karaoke, The Bachelor(ette), and all things Top 40 music and pop culture. Their friendship has lasted the miles, stood the test of time, and Jen and Matt are beyond excited, thrilled, and honored for Pat to play such an important part in their wedding. One other note about Pat - you'll never find such a more die hard Kelly Clarkson fan out there in the universe - anywhere. He's even gone so far as to nick name himself "Pat Clarkson" - so watch out for "Pat Clarkson" "winning the wedding!"

Jen has known Adam since 4th year at UVA. Going to sing Baja Bean karaoke every Tuesday, to letters exchanged while Adam was in the PeaceCorps right after college, to multiple dinners and nights out since Adam moved back to DC, her and Adam share many beyond phenomenal memories. Jen feels incredibly lucky to have Adam in her life and he's given her wisdom and counsel at some of the times when she's needed it most. Her and Matt are so lucky to welcome Adam into their wedding party. One other small fact about Adam - he has impeccable fashion sense and has even coined the nick name "Jones New York" for his love of accessorizing. Though be careful about giving him your drink or dinner plate since he also has the nick name "drips" and "dribbles." Fashion to fumbles, everyone loves and admires Adam and he's one of Jen and Matt's closest friends.

Matt's Uncle David is Matt's mom's only sibling and lives in Lexington, Kentucky - David and his wife Sarah are the father of three boys. They met in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Kentucky in the late-1980s where they have since resided. David has from time to time been coaxed into playing roles in the old Gatewood Family Christmas Movies, from King Kong's chief tribal leader to being a "local" interviewed by the Croc Hunter. David will be reading the Prayers of the People at the ceremony.

Jen met Bret 9 years ago during the first orientation session Jen taught at the Advisory Board. This also happened to be Bret's first day at work after graduating undergrad from Dartmouth, so they left quite the impression and have been fast friends since. Bret joins Andrea and Chelsea (bridesmaids) in our self-determined "fam" - who enjoys nights out at Whitlow's and Taco Bell. In fact there's one person who loves Taco Bell more than the CEO himself - and that's Bret Anderson. Finally, while a Cleveland native, Bret will have his hands full this weekend of all things Old Bay, Tabasco, oysters, and clams ... and hopefully we'll see an appearance of his beloved sailboat tie!

Jen has known Michael for the last 10 years since he started at the Advisory Board as a Marketing Associate. Michael is a lover of all things Dolly Parton, his beloved pups Finnegan and Reba, and absurd humor. As one of Jen's funniest friends, he will take any situation and make the most of it, finding laughter in even the smallest things. He's also one of Jen's most caring and sincere friends and has been there for her during time when she's needed it the most. Michael and his partner Rob have hosted many a birthday celebration for Jen and her friend Andrea in their 20s and 30s, and they have shared some of their most special moments together. Michael and Rob got married at the most beautiful wedding in MI last year and have just celebrated their 1-year anniversary - congratulations Michael and Rob!

Mark (aka "Marcus Welby, M.D.") is the oldest of Matt's two brothers (both younger). Only three years younger than Matthew, he had to endure all of Matthew's "rules" when growing up regardless of the activity in which the two were engaged. Mark moved to Houston last Spring for his work at MRC Global but he and his wife Amber (a bridesmaid) have become loyal vacation partners to the wedding couple, having gone to Italy, Paris, and California with them over the past three years. Mark is still receiving speeding tickets from the cameras that clocked his driving on the Autostrada in Italy when we were there three years ago.

"Wise John" is the youngest of Matt's two brothers, currently clocking in at the age of 24. Of all three Gatewood brothers, John gained the true artistic abilities and is poised for greatness as an artist. If you are in need of any new original artwork, definitely talk to John! One of his original works from years ago resides on Matthew's office wall. Like the rest of the family, JM is a Mountaineer enthusiast, but he wins the award for having the most subjective enthusiasm for the team.

Jen's brother also went to UVA like the rest of the family before going to business school at Northwestern. Jason now works for J.P. Morgan's investor relations group in New York City. Matt first met Jason the night Matt also met Jen's mother, at an Umphreys McGee concert in DC in November 2009. They all had dinner with the band's lead singer Brendan, who is one of Jason's oldest friends, before the band took the stage. Jason made his first trip to Charleston, WV this past holiday season to meet the entire Gatewood family and had his inaugural trip to Tudor's Biscuit World, Fazio's, Diehl's, and Town'n Country Lanes!

Matthew met Dylan in Matt's junior year at WVU. Orginally from East Fairmont, WV, Dylan now works for the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC. Matt & Jen's first international trip involved a week-long excursion to visit Dylan while he was in the Peace Corps in Panama. From taking Jen whitewater rafting for the first time (on a tough river in the mountains) to hiking through the jungle, that trip was quite an eye-opening experience for Jen! Like his role model "the American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, he has dined with kings and queens, slept in alleyways, and dined on pork n' beans.

Mr. Almond is responsible for setting up the wedding couple at the beginning of 2009. He and his wife Amy were married in the summer of 2011 in Charlottesville and they are expecting their first child in April. He and Matt have run a weekly or bi-weekly happy hour series in D.C. for the past several years, including "A to Z," "The Presidents Club," "The States of the Union," and currently the extremely creative "Vice Presidents Club." Brandon likes tacos, entertaining, cake, making trips to West Virginia, his family and friends, and is sometimes referred to as "The Gravyboat Captain."

Matt has known Jason since junior year at WVU, worked with him in the Governor's Office after Matt's 1st year of law school, and the two have gone on many trips together from Mountaineer bowl games to Colorado to all of the county seats south of Charleston. Pizatella is currently Governor Tomblin's Deputy Chief of Staff and has been heavily involved in West Virginia state politics since almost the day he graduated law school from WVU. Although Italian by heritage, his Italian acumen has been questioned since college when J.L. asked him if he wanted at a cannoli at dessert at Puglioni's in Morgantown and his response was, "what's a cannoli?" He has been referred to as "Smith" from that day forward by some.

Eric, who was born one day apart from Mark, is the son of Matt's dad's sister, Rozanna. Now a dentist near Charleston, has achieved many colorful nicknames over the years (most well before he got married and had his lovely daughter Palmer). Those include Frau Farbissina, Dr. Von Nostrum, and the name that Matt's dad has called him since he was about 5: "Conan the Barbarian" (note, Dr. Eric still appears in Matthew's cell phone as "Conan the Barbarian"). Eric, Mark, and Matt were the geniuses behind the annual Gatewood Family Christmas Movies that have become legendary in the family annals and likely will be attempted again at some point in time.

As agile as a marionette, the Tufts hockey goalie and former Sutherland energy associate now works for an energy consulting firm and lives in the Connecticut suburbs. The father of two, "Jumbo" is the only person other than Matthew and Amber to have attended all 7 annual West Virginia cabin trips. Mr. Staiti is a lover of all-things Boston especially including the Sox, surprisingly adept dance moves, and hiking the Dolly Sods in any weather. He and Matt started both started at Sutherland in September 2006 and at the time, lived in the same apartment complex in Northern Virginia.

Matthew first met Ben in 1990 when Matthew started attending Holz Elementary for the 5th grade. Although in separate 5th grade classes, Ben sat behind "Gates" in Mrs. Geiger's 6th grade class that went to the Yucatan Peninsula for the class trip (Matthews' dad also went on the trip). Ben moved to Parkersburg after the 7th grade and later went to Notre Dame for college but the two were reunited at W&L where they roomed together for all 3 years of law school at 728B Plunkett Street. When Ben moved back to West Virginia from Charlotte after law school, Matt set him up with his now wife Meredith, whom Matt had met while clerking for Judge Goodwin.

Jonathan lived with Dyan with Matt met him during Jonathan's freshman year at WVU. From sports leagues to bowl trips (including two Gator Bowls, the Sugar Bowl, and the Fiesta Bowl), Jonathan has been part of many legendary moments. Jonathan and his wife Megan now have a little baby boy (Jimmy) and reside in Morgantown.

Chef extraordinaire, Mr. Tino annually serves as the resident chef on the annual W.Va. cabin trip. Although Matt knew young Joseph when Tino was a year behind Matt's class at W&L Law, the two did not become close until after law school when Tino spent a lot of time in DC before moving here for a Georgetown graduate program a few years ago. Tino now is back in his native state of Jersey. Before going to W&L, Tino graduated from Cornell (or at least that is what he tells people).

Jeff and Matt started at Sutherland on the same day in September 2006. Although Jeff is in the tax group and Matt in litigation, the two spent a lot of time together out of the office getting to know DC. In the summer of 2012, Matt introduced Jeff to his fiancee Kate, who works with Jen at the Advisory Board. Matt & Jen actually went with Jeff and Kate on their first date at Acadiana. Jeff is originally from upstate New York, went to Colgate undergrad and Georgetown law.

Amber and Mark got married 7 years ago in Amber's hometown of Philippi, WV. Jen met Amber on her 2nd date with Matt at the "Monster Truck Jam" at the Verizon Center in DC. With Jen thankfully having "passed the test," she and Amber became fast friends and have more in common than Mark and Matt could imagine. She is a dental hygienist and just moved to Houston a year ago with Mark. Amber rivals "Snow White" as the world's biggest animal lover, loves trying new foods, is a "pranskster," adores her family, and is happiest at the beach. Mark, Amber, Matt, and Jen have traversed the globe to Italy, France, CA, and other destinations. Jen feels lucky to adopt the best sister-in-law a girl could ask for.

Jen met Chelsea when she started at the Advisory Board Company 10 years ago. They became friends at Chelsea's 24th birthday (aka. Tank Top Time!). Chelsea loves pizza, the color pink, the raw bar at Clyde's in Georgetown, dogs, Pinot Grigio, pearl necklaces, people's quarks, books, and is tied in her love for the Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals (Shane is a big San Francisco Giants fan). She is also obsessed with the Olympics and is currently beating Matt in his own Olympic pool (to Matt's chagrin). Chelsea got married to Shane lake-side in a golf course in October, in her old William and Mary College town of Williamsburg; Jen and Chelsea have shared many a "Wedding War Room Wednesday," enjoying 1/2 price raw bar at Clyde's in Georgetown. Chelsea is also the proud owner of a new home and dog, Polly.

Jen met Andrea when Jen interviewed Andrea for a job at the Advisory Board 10 years ago. Good thing Jen said "yes," since they've been friends ever since. From MA trips to karaoke nights, shopping for holiday party dresses, birthday parties, their Hawaii trip, and traveling the miles for friends' weddings, Jen and Andrea have shared many memories. Andrea moved back from Austin 1 year ago and in with her boyfriend Paul Bobb. Andrea loves: karaoke, New Vegas Lounge, rap and R&B, dancing, table service, dressing up, Bud Light Lime, and Mariah Carey; Andrea hates: baby corn, strobe lights, and traffic. She is publicly lactose intolerant, so matter how much she begs you for queso, don't let her have it (your welcome, Paul).

Courtney "aka. Comrade Court" has been Jen's friend for 11 years. They met right before Jen's senior year at UVA, when they both lived on The Lawn. Traveling all over for trips to see friends, vacations for new years, Foxfield, visits to the Jersey Shore and "Feeney's Patio Bar," they've covered the miles. Court is an avid believer that "good things happen when we have cosmos" which includes rides with NFL players and in Teslas and private boat excursions to Alcatraz. She is a lover of travel (having recently gotten back from China and is preparing to leave soon for India), politics, fine wine, Patriots Football, pizza, and UVA. Court got married 2 years ago to Don Auerbach and is a proud owner of a home in Capitol Hill and dog, Caper.

14 years ago Ginny interviewed Jen to participate in "UVA Lead," after which they became fast friends. Ginny convinced Jen to move to DC and work at the Advisory Board. Moving up in the world, Ginny attended Roth Business School. Since then she has been at Target's corporate headquarters in Minneapolis and she is currently head buyer for seasonal candies (if you go to that aisle, you'll see Ginny's masterpiece!). Ginny loves the outdoors and is one of the most active and athletic people Jen knows. She participates regularly in triathlons and is an avid cyclist. She's also the proud owner of a cat, Bullwinkle (just don't go to sleep or he may gnaw on your face). When visiting Jen 2 years ago, Ginny met her boyfriend Brian, at Kelsey's annual Halloween bash. Ginny is currently on DC's most wanted (to move back) list.

Jen met Whitney 30 years ago when they entered Key School in Annapolis together. Referred to as "the Giggle Girls" in Mrs. Clevenger's 1st grade classroom and going to school until college, nothing has changed. From the playground to ballet lessons with Mrs. Easter, piano lessons with Mrs. Elvy, field hockey and lacrosse, eating steamed crabs, winery tours, tubing in Harper's Ferry, and Whitney's recent wedding in Mexico, Jen and Whitney have been life long best friends. Whitney recently married Wayne at a beautiful beach wedding in Cancun. She splits her time between Annapolis and Charleston, SC where she recently bought a house. Whitney is the proud "mother" of 2 guinea pigs, Cammie and Oinks, whose attire rivals those by Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang.

Britt aka. "my sister" met Jen 10 years ago when Jen served as Brittny's mentor at the Advisory Board. After many "scripting" sessions, Brittny and Jen knew they were lifelong friends, and took pleasure in making work fun and pranking their teammates. Britt is lover of all things seaside, warm weather, oysters, steamed crabs, fresh seafood, gold jewelry, shopping, Lionel Ritchie, and Kelly Clarkson. A Sewickley, PA native and Syracuse grad, her fashion sense is impeccable and her sense of humor is about as PC as the gutter, but that's why everyone loves her!!!! Brittny recently married DJ in a gorgeous mountain-side wedding in the heart of Denver. They are the proud owners of a home in Capitol Hill and recently adopted a dog from DJ's mom, Daisy.

Kelsey and Jen met 10 years ago when Jen was Kelsey's mentor at the firm. Having just graduated from Lynchburg College, the "Se" was always up for anything. Kelsey is an expert chef and host, and currently works for the National Zoo in DC as an event planner. She throws the most amazing annual Halloween bash, the world-famous event also responsible for introducing Ginny and her boyfriend Brian Attaway. Kelsey married John 2.5 years ago at Oxon Hill Manor just outside of DC in a lovely "Great Gatsby" themed wedding. They are the proud owners of a home in Falls Church, with a yard about the size of and as awe-inspiring as Buckingham Palace. They are proud owners of their dogs, Allagash and most recently Taylor.

Free parking is available in the church parking lot or on one of the streets around the church. Dress for the wedding is summer semi-formal (i.e., most men not in the wedding party will be wearing suits, some of which will be summer-style lighter suits, and most women will be wearing dresses including summer sun dresses). Probably best not to wear a white wedding dress ...

The reception is only a 5-10 minute walk from the ceremony. Alternatively, there is plenty of free parking at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum; cars may be left overnight through the next day.

Join us in continuing the party with live band music at what's known by patrons as the "best dive bar in the world." Free shuttle service from 7pm until 2am (last pick up) to any hotel on weekend nights.

The last couple months have included everything from Jen's Dad and Anne visiting DC, karaoke, Greek Night at Kellari Taverna, NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament party, Jen's Bridal Shower in MD, wedding ring shopping, getting a marriage license, Easter with Jen's Mom, baby showers galore, Mother’s Day in Annapolis and Charleston respectively, Jen’s 33rd birthday crab feast ... to our last visit in St. Michaels! We will be sending out more information by email, so please check that when you can. These last weeks have included a couple visits to St. Michaels, Jen's dad Ken coming to DC to visit for some pool, Miami with some of Jen's friends, Tampa with some of Matt's friends, Mardi Gras, celebrating Courtney's birthday, and dinners out in DC with friends. While we've had snow as recently as March 30, Jen and Matt are excited for spring to come soon.

The only thing that could draw Matt's attention away from the Sochi games is a visit from his mom Becky and Maw Maw Jo. The group hit the town at Ruth's Chris.

After surviving D.C.'s biggest snowstorm since February 2010 (when Jen was stuck at Matt's apartment for several days), Matt & Jen took to I Ricchi in DuPont for an Italian-style Valentine's Day dinner. This morning, they hosted a crew to tune in live to the U.S. vs. Russia hockey game from Sochi - Jen whipped up white russians and eggs and all were in good spirits, especially after the thrilling outcome.

The Winter Olympics kick off this weekend - although we served as Olympic correspondents for the London games, the big day in June will keep us from venturing to 'Mother Russia' but rest assured we will be watching closely from home (Matt likely much more than Jen) ...

Between the time you read this message and the wedding, every day that will pass in that time frame will contain more daylight than the previous day. Given the wedding date on the Summer Solstice, we can guarantee it.

We know, we got engaged last January and you still have not received an official Save the Date card. Do not fear, they are nearly ready to send out - in the interim, SAVE THE DATE ... June 21, 2014!

We promise that we will actually complete a registry for those asking ... we are hoping to do so by the end of January.
